They call me Mr. Moore, Professor Moore, Mr. Mo, Moore, Coach, even Unc — but my favorite is Coach J. For over a decade I've stood in front of classrooms, auditoriums, and arenas with one mission: to make young people feel the greatness already inside them — and then give them the tools to act on it.
From the band room to the main stage, I've spent my career turning rooms full of doubt into rooms full of belief. Moore Visionary Pathways is how my team and I take that work to schools, stages, and communities across the country.
Forged in the legacy of Morehouse College and refined through a Master of Music Education at the University of Georgia, my scholarship lives where artistry meets the architecture of the mind. As a Certified Master Practitioner and Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, I work in the language beneath language — the patterns that shape how a person perceives, believes, and ultimately becomes. Every room I enter, I'm doing the same work: recalibrating the inner narrative so a young person can hear their own greatness and answer it.
From The Band Room
To The Movement
My journey didn't start in a boardroom — it started in the band room. Music taught me discipline, brotherhood, and the power of showing up fully for something bigger than myself. As a drum major and band leader, I learned how to command a room, set a standard, and pull greatness out of the people around me.
As an educator with K–12 and collegiate experience, I came to understand that the real work was never just about the subject. It was about developing people — helping young men and women understand who they are, what they carry, and what they're capable of becoming.
When I planted roots in Charlotte, I brought that mission with me. I founded Moore Visionary Pathways to do this work on our own terms — building Camp YELC, the Alumni Legacy Assembly, and a speaking and hosting platform that meets young people where they are and walks them toward who they're meant to be.
I'm a speaker, an emcee, an author, and a lifelong student of what it means to lead with both strength and vulnerability. Everything we build comes back to one purpose: Revealing The Power Within — The God Within — Every Person We Serve.
